Terms and Conditions: By participating in the Afrofuture Rising Star Challenge 2024 you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before submitting your entry.

1. Eligibility

● The Challenge is open to individuals aged 18 and over.
● Employees of Afrofuture and The Continent Live, as well as their immediate family
members, are not eligible to participate.

2. Entry Requirements‍

● Participants must submit an official application form and post a 60-second entry video on
Instagram, tagging @afrofuturerisingstar, @afrofuture, and @thecontinentlive using
the hashtag #AFRisingStar24.
● Entries will be accepted from October 3, 2024, to October 17, 2024.
● All content submitted must be original, and the participant must hold all necessary rights
to their submission.

3. Top 10 Selection

● The Top 10 contestants will be selected based on engagement metrics, including
reposts, shares, and audience interaction.
● Afrofuture and The Continent Live retain the right to verify the authenticity of
engagement and may disqualify participants if fraudulent activity is suspected.

4. Top 5 Selection‍

● The Top 5 contestants will be chosen based on a combination of public voting (website &
radio) and expert panel judgment.
● The criteria for selection will include talent, originality, engagement, and stage presence
(as evidenced in submitted videos).

5. Travel and Accommodation

● Afrofuture will not provide travel, accommodation, or any related expenses for
participants.
● All finalists are responsible for their own transportation and lodging if they are selected to
perform at Culture Jam 2024 or attend the writing camp.

6. Content Usage‍

● By submitting your entry, you grant Afrofuture, The Continent Live, and their partners the
right to use, reproduce, and distribute your submitted content across any media for
promotional purposes without additional compensation.
● Participants agree to be featured in promotional materials, including interviews, photos,
and videos, if selected as finalists or winners.

7. Disqualification

● Afrofuture reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates the terms and
conditions or engages in behavior that is deemed inappropriate, fraudulent, or harmful to
the reputation of Afrofuture, The Continent Live, or the Challenge.

8. Decision and Judging‍

● The decisions made by Afrofuture and The Continent Live are final and non-negotiable.
No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection process.

9. Liability

● Afrofuture and its partners are not responsible for any technical malfunctions, failures, or
delays in the entry process, nor for any claims related to personal injury or property
damage that may arise from participation in the Challenge.

10. Governing Law

● These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ghana, and any disputes shall
be resolved within the jurisdiction of Ghana.
